Coin Purse

I'm back and it's now December.

Season of Giving is here!!!
And here's one gift idea ---  a Felt Appliqued Canvas Coin Purse

Actually, It's my first time to do a coin purse.
My best friend asked me to do some coin purse and to have some felt on its design.
They will be giving it as Christmas Gifts.

And this is what I came up.

I started with 6 designs for a sample.
1st Row : Pig, Hippo and Chicken
2nd Row : Tiger, Dog and Fox

I added Jingle Bells for Christmassy effect.

I coordinated the colors of the zippers with that of major color of the applique.
I am beginning to like zippers now... I am starting to collect some, hehehe.

Each of the animal applique is hand sewn to the Canvas purse.

And my Best friend loved it.
Took the 6 samples, and ordered 18 more and requested for 6 new designs.
1st Row : Elephant, Cow, Penguin
2nd Row : Owl, Zebra, Monkey

Have done 34 pieces and now doing 38 pieces more and I'm loving it!!!!

You can see the individual photos of my coin purse at my FB page.

Felt Project: Animals --- my very first felt project

I love to go to bookstores and I can stay the whole day there.
I am not a book lover but I am very much interested in other things  book store offers --- Craft Stuff.

When I was still working in Singapore (3 years ago), Popular Bookstore in a neighborhood mall, was my favorite place to visit. I was a regular customer (even in other branches), and I am very much excited when they have a SALE, things are really affordable.

Looking for interesting things in the bookstore, I came across this little plastic with some little square colorful fabric inside, a needle and threads. It looked interesting. The cover inside shows a cute animal with illustrated directions on how to sew. Can't resist on the cuteness of the animals, I bought all the designs, it was only SGD $1.00 each.

I read through the instructions and then I came to know that the fabric is called  FELT.
Googled FELT, looked at FELT projects and then I fell in love with FELT!!!!

Sewing these cuties was not as easy as the illustrations. Patiently, I managed to finish!
I first posted these photos in my Friendster and Multiply site before and got good comments.
It urged me to do more projects and collect more and more FELT (plain and printed)!!!

Here are my Felt Animal cuties --- my first ever felt project!

And I am sharing you the pattern of the 6 animal cuties --- download it HERE.
Hope to see your cuties!!!

Happy Sewing!!!

New set of Animals :)
Drawn basically from a Circle.

I am doodling these 25 animals for a sewing project in the future.
I just recently discovered  an easy way to make a pattern, drawing it in Inkscape.
You can simply explode it into parts arrange it into a paper, then print and cut.

 Like my animals?
Just leave a message and I will gladly give you the individual PNG files of these circle cuties.

Cross Stitch: Owls

Lately, I was not so busy with any major projects.
So I was kind of bored and lazy. Lazy because I also don't want to do anything big.
Maybe this is because of the weather, hehehe. It is just so hot here!

But my mind keeps on urging me that I have to do something worthwhile.

I have been looking for sewing projects which can be done in one day.
I will only be dealing with it in just a short span of time,
so laziness will not take that urge away.

I was looking at my stash and I found my new collection of embroidery floss,
the Anchor's Multicolored Floss.

Photo for ebay

Cross Stitching, then came to my mind.
Not much preparations to do. Cut the Aida Cloth, prepare your pattern and sew!

Before we used to buy the patterns, but now it is easy to get a free one in the net.
Thanks to all the generous people who shares their patterns.

I got my pattern from

I made a simpler version (goal: finish in one day! hehehe!), so only the owls.
And only 6 owls, arranged in 2 rows. Each owl is stitched using different multicolored floss.
The Aida Cloth size is 5"x7". I made it in this size to fit into my empty 5R Photo Frame.

So now it is placed in our dresser!
If ever I will have my own crafting space in our new home, this would be a great decor.

You can't keep it, but you can spend it.
