Felt Nativity

Christmas is not complete without the Nativity scene.
It is a reminder of the reason why we celebrate Christmas.

We have ceramic figurines before but I don't know where it is now, or I guess I had thrown it away.
So I have to have a new one and I decided I would make one instead of buying it.

I was looking for a nativity design that I could hang up in our mini Christmas tree. Hanging it will save me some space and will serve as a tree ornament as well.

I found this in Flickr. I find it so simple, clean and cute.

I made my own pattern, and used felt as fabric.
To complete my Nativity Scene characters, I designed  the Three Kings and  the Shepherd and the Sheep.

I wanted to share to you a tutorial, but I did not take photos while I was doing these.
It's hard for me to put the process into words, photos would have been easier.

( I took one photo only during the assembly of the parts.)

But if you want a pattern, just simply leave a comment and I will send you one.

Have a Very Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

  32. I was browsing my sister's Pinterest site and saw that she had attempted this nativity set. I looked up your site, and was thrilled that there is a pattern. My little 3 yr old grand daughter will be here over the Christmas holiday and has great expectation for doing special things with Grandma (like sewing). She could conquer the world in her little imagination. I've been looking for something special we could do together, and this is IT!. I can easily have the pieces cut, and she will enjoy so much putting them together for her own special set to take home.
Thank you so much for your generosity of giving the pattern, but even more, for sharing your crafty talent with me! I will really enjoy this project with my little one!!
