High Five

Happy FIVE to my friend, my partner, my love---- my Architon...
Thank you for everything.

I love keeping memories!!!

I like to keep things to remind me of the special events in my life.
For our wedding (aside from the usual photos, videos, etc. , that we keep), I never deleted a song from my computer, iPod, cellphone and I keep a dried flower in our altar.

That song is our wedding song  --- Angels Brought Me Here by Guy Sebastian. It was played when I walked down the aisle, as my hubby waited for me in the altar. I never get tired of listening to this song, sometimes I do play it over and over again (on REPEAT), hehehehe :) It always brings back that blissful (and "kilig") feeling we had on our special day .

ANGELS BOUGHT ME HERE
- Guy Sebastian -

It's been a long and winding journey, but i'm finally here tonight
Picking up the pieces, walking back into the light

Into the sunset of your glory, where my heart and future lies
There's nothing like that feeling, when i look into your eyes...

My dreams came true, when i found you
I found you, my miracle...

If you could see, what i see, that you're the answer to my prayer
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...

Standing here before you, feels like i've been born again
Every breath is your love, every heartbeat speaks your name...

My dreams came true, right here in front of you
My miracle...

If you could see, what i see, you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...

Brought me here to be with you
I'll be forever grateful (oh forever Faithful)

My dreams came true
When I found you
My miracle...

If you could see, what i see, you're the answer to my prayers
And if you could feel, the tenderness i feel
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...
Yes they brought me here...
If you could feel, the tenderness i feel..
You would know, it would be clear, that angels brought me here...

A day after our wedding, when we went home, I placed hubby's boutonniere in the altar. Amazingly, it is still intact after 5 years. What did I do to preserve it?
 Absolutely nothing.

For me, it is still pretty as it was when my hubby wore it on our special day --- and  it will always be -- like our LOVE , forevermore, we will cherish.

Zee's First Year in Digi Scrap

I love Digital Scrapbooking!

I was so busy lately with this project. I really pushed myself to finish this before September ends, and I was so happy I did. I made a digital scrap for each month for Zee's Photo Album. Yes, you read it right, a traditional photo album and not a trendy photo book, hehehehe. I still find it very interesting to put pictures in a traditional album. Aiai, my sis, gave me a black (pages are black, which makes it more interesting than whites ones) photo album...thank you very mucho. I plan to print all photos I take everyday, but waaaaaaaaah, oooh soo many (thousands),can't afford. I just picked up those very nice and unforgetable ones. This digital layouts I made will be placed first for every monthly pics.

Here's what I am bragging about! hehehe!

Credits:  I would like to give thanks to all those very generous and talented people, making those elements and papers for digital scrapbooking, and for sharing it everyone for free. Sorry if I was not able to mention you individually here, I am not so organized, I can't figure out which folder I get these elements. But there's one that I am sure..ISCRAP.. THANK YOU!!!

Shirt Applique: How I do it?

I love Appliques!

I have been sewing appliqued shirts for kids to give as gifts because I always wanted to give something  with a personal touch. I have read lots of tutorials in the net, but my resources are limited (e.g. haven't found  Heat and Bond or Freezer paper in any stores I have visited in Cebu -- these are used to bond the applique to the shirt, so it's easy for you to sew), so I did it the traditional way (no bonding). I just have to be careful during the stitching process, stop and adjust once in a while.

So here's my first ever tutorial (and hopefully not the last, hehehe!) --- Shirt Applique : How I do it?

01. Prepare the pattern for your applique using any sheet of paper or board.
02. Trace the applique at the wrong side of your fabric. Pattern should also be facing on the wrong side.
03. Prepare the coordinating embroidery threads.

Prepare the interfacing -- the thicker the better. This will prevent your shirt from moving and  stretching during the sewing process. Size it according to the applique.
04. Under the shirt, put a card board or anything that is stiff. This will help in aligning the applique to the shirt.
05. & 06. Put the interfacing under the shirt, making sure the applique and the interfacing is aligned.

07. Pin it.
08. Set the sewing machine. In my case: Stitch Length - 5 (longest); Stitch Width -  F (almost the nearest) and  Stitch type - 3 (zigzag stitch)
09. Position the needle on the outer edge of the applique, put down the presser foot and sew.

10.  Sew. Stop, raise the presser foot and adjust the shirt, when changing directions or sewing in a curve path.
11. After sewing, turn inside out and cut out the interfacing at the back of the shirt.
12. This is how it looks like when done with the cutting.

Happy Sewing!!!
