Felt Project: Animals --- my very first felt project

I love to go to bookstores and I can stay the whole day there.
I am not a book lover but I am very much interested in other things  book store offers --- Craft Stuff.

When I was still working in Singapore (3 years ago), Popular Bookstore in a neighborhood mall, was my favorite place to visit. I was a regular customer (even in other branches), and I am very much excited when they have a SALE, things are really affordable.

Looking for interesting things in the bookstore, I came across this little plastic with some little square colorful fabric inside, a needle and threads. It looked interesting. The cover inside shows a cute animal with illustrated directions on how to sew. Can't resist on the cuteness of the animals, I bought all the designs, it was only SGD $1.00 each.

I read through the instructions and then I came to know that the fabric is called  FELT.
Googled FELT, looked at FELT projects and then I fell in love with FELT!!!!

Sewing these cuties was not as easy as the illustrations. Patiently, I managed to finish!
I first posted these photos in my Friendster and Multiply site before and got good comments.
It urged me to do more projects and collect more and more FELT (plain and printed)!!!

Here are my Felt Animal cuties --- my first ever felt project!

And I am sharing you the pattern of the 6 animal cuties --- download it HERE.
Hope to see your cuties!!!

Happy Sewing!!!

Felt Project: Felt Rose Barrettes

I have been working on felt projects lately.

Felt mojo is definitely back, hehehe.

I haven't done any felt projects anymore, after the lens scrunchies. But as I was tidying up my stash, the colors of felt was so flashy, its hard not to notice. So I then browsed my "Anything Felt" Board in Pinterest, searching for a simple project for a start.

By the way, you can follow all my Boards in Pinterest here:

Since Mother's Day is coming, this Sunday, May 13, I thought that I would just make some gifts for my Mama and all my mommy relatives and friends. Making these did not only make me contented (which I usually feel after I am done with a project), it will also make other Mommies happy as well.

And so I made Felt Rose Barettes ---- 16 pieces of them.

Thanks to www.purlbee.com for the clear tutorial and free pattern!!!
Sorry but I cannot give you the link to this site. As of this moment, I can't open her site.
Don't know the reason why :(

For the meantime see her beautiful work here:

and here's my version

Felt Nativity Set Pattern Free Download

I know it's not yet Christmas, hehehe.
It is still February!

But I am posting this giveaway, as this has been long overdue.

I made a Felt Nativity Set last December
and I promised to give a pattern for this set.

I apologize for it took me so long to do this.
But anyways, here it is!

Download the PDF File here:

Print in A4 paper with no scaling.
To check, length of the biggest felt is about 5 3/4 inches long.
You can amend the color, or do whatever you want.

I wish to see your version.
So if you made a set, please put a link of your photo on the comment box below.

Again THANK YOU to that somebody who made the original felt nativity.
You inspired me to do this.
I really can't find who made this. I just saw it on Flickr.

New Year Greetings and New Lens Scrunchies

Happy New Year Everyone !!!

(In the photo: My son and my nephew watching the fountain being lit up welcoming the New Year.)

I know my greetings is a bit late, hehehe. But it's better late than never.
I was just a bit busy after the holidays.
I promise I will be prompt the next time.

If you have remembered, a photographer friend of mine asked me to do a lens scrunchies for her photo shoot with a kid . She asked me to do a Lady Bug.

So I did....

"Bugay" -- the lady bug

I added 3 more designs, hoping she would like it too.

"Hooty" -- the owl

"Drake" -- the dragon

"Heppy" -- the hippo

  Boni and Friends

And she liked the 3 designs too.
Happy Shooting my friend!!!

Felt Nativity

Christmas is not complete without the Nativity scene.
It is a reminder of the reason why we celebrate Christmas.

We have ceramic figurines before but I don't know where it is now, or I guess I had thrown it away.
So I have to have a new one and I decided I would make one instead of buying it.

I was looking for a nativity design that I could hang up in our mini Christmas tree. Hanging it will save me some space and will serve as a tree ornament as well.

I found this in Flickr. I find it so simple, clean and cute.

I made my own pattern, and used felt as fabric.
To complete my Nativity Scene characters, I designed  the Three Kings and  the Shepherd and the Sheep.

I wanted to share to you a tutorial, but I did not take photos while I was doing these.
It's hard for me to put the process into words, photos would have been easier.

( I took one photo only during the assembly of the parts.)

But if you want a pattern, just simply leave a comment and I will send you one.

Have a Very Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Starry Starry Christmas Tree

We have little Christmas Tree we bought since we got married. So it's about  5 years and 2 months old. I used to decorate it with balls, bells, flowers, garland and lights. This year I wanted it to be different. I want to make it more starry :)

So I made some little stars from my felt scraps ( I don't throw my felt scraps -- I either used it for small projects or for stuffing).

Here's how I did it:

(You may want to glue it to the white felt, to make it easy to sew as it will stay in its place)

(You can use running stitch or blanket stitch)

(The sample of putting the cord is not the star, but of one of my felt ornament. I just want to provide a clearer example.)

And here's our Little Christmas Tree...

Happy Starry Holidays Everyone!!!
